Team Standert heading to the hills
As every normal cyclist we always are looking for something different to ride. Berlin is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and is the perfect terrain for long and fast rides. But do not expect anything to climb. That’s why we used the last weekend with it’s additional bank holiday for some riding in Jena. Jena is 300 km southwest from Berlin and located in the beautiful Saaletal with hills all around. With three days of cycling ahead of us we stuffed our five bikes, sleeping bags and food in the van an left Berlin. In Jena we stayed at “Odlo’s” place. Odlo is owning a bike shop in Jena and was teaching our Peter the secrets of being an awesome mechanic years ago. With Odlo (no, it’s not his real name but nobody uses his real name) we had the perfect host and guide for the weekend. Thanks again Odlo!
Long story short. We had three days of perfect weather, 380 km and 4600 m elevation on finest roads through the nature. Jena, we’ll be back.
